March Of The Phantom Brigade
The Harken forest is one of the last remaining great old hardwood forests of the known world. Rumored to be the home of treants and other fey folk, it was once of even greater extent and was a single forest with the Winterbole Forest to the north. Once named Windsong Forest by the elves, that name is now only used to refer to a small eastern enclave of the forest which is still under elvish care.
This vast forest stretches from the Stonemarch in the west to the treeline of the Dawnforge Mountains in the east. Now separated from Winterbole Forest, its northernmost extend is in the foothills of Thunderspire Peak and it extends for many miles to the more populous river and coastal towns of the south.
From their secret glade, the Woodsinger Clan elves roam and protect travelers in the eastern portions of the forest. They have occasional trade with the folk of Harkenwold or Hammerfast, but most often keep to themselves. They goblins of Daggerburg do their best to avoid elvish hunting parties and mostly raid unwary travelers near the Witchlight Fens.
